CYCU TMC held its Innovation Lab opening ceremony on March 12, 2026. Prof. Huei-Chu Weng, PI of our lab, serves as TMC Director, leading the center in thermal management R&D and education for the AI/HPC era.

Wu et al. won first place in CSVSA Student Poster Competition

The 9th Symposium on Vision Science and Art established a "Cross-Domain Integration" category in its Student Poster Competition to encourage students to bridge visual science and art. Students mentored by Prof. Huei Chu Weng — Kun-Ta Wu, Yan-Chieh Wu, Weng-Cheng Huang, Chao-Jung Tseng, Li-Chien Wang, and Po-Jui Tseng — won First Place through outstanding poster presentations, oral talks, and Q&A.

Prof. Weng was awarded HMTST Service Award

Prof. Huei Chu Weng has long served the Heat and Mass Transfer Society of Taiwan (HMTST), holding multiple terms on its Board of Directors and Supervisors. As Chair of the Organizing Committee for the HMTST Annual Conference and the International Workshop on Micro/Nano Heat Transfer and Energy (MNHTE), he led the planning and execution of these events to wide acclaim. To recognize his dedication and outstanding contributions to advancing the heat- and mass-transfer field, the HMTST Secretariat nominated Prof. Weng for the 2025 Service Award, which was approved by the 5th Board of Directors and Supervisors. In 2014, Prof. Weng served as a keynote speaker at MNHTE2014 — the inaugural workshop — helping shape the Society's early international identity. In 2017, he hosted the 4th Annual Conference (MNHTE2017) as General Chair, integrating industry, academia, and research, and inviting research teams from multiple countries, significantly raising Taiwan's profile in the international heat- and mass-transfer community. He has continued to support the planning of subsequent international symposia and annual conferences, helping build cross-disciplinary collaboration platforms and promoting technology adoption and research exchange. Prof. Weng's award reflects his exceptional contributions to society building, talent development, and international academic networking — embodying a sustained spirit of service and leadership.

為落實「全人教育」辦學理念，中原大學首度設立「全人師鐸獎」，並於12月17日舉辦頒獎典禮，表揚在教學啟發與學生輔導上表現卓越的教師。學校透過制度化表揚機制，肯定教師於教學現場實踐全人教育精神、長期陪伴學生多元發展與生命成長的投入，展現深化全人教育的具體行動。

Prof. Weng was awarded CYCU Holistic Teaching Excellence Award

To realize its "Holistic Education" mission, Chung Yuan Christian University established the inaugural "Holistic Teaching Excellence Award" and held the award ceremony on December 17, 2025, recognizing faculty whose teaching and mentoring exemplify the spirit of holistic education. Three honors were conferred: the "Talent Cultivation Award," the "Life Navigator Award," and the "Holistic Legacy Award." Prof. Huei Chu Weng of the Department of Mechanical Engineering received the "Life Navigator Award." Prof. Weng emphasizes that professional competence and general education literacy are complementary, and that both are essential for cultivating engineers with strong execution capability and broad-minded inclusivity. His courses center on "fundamentals, creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship." Multiple courses have been recognized in CYCU's curriculum evaluation and teaching grant programs, and he has previously received the IEET Outstanding Teaching Award and Ministry of Education team awards in New Engineering Education and Energy Talent Cultivation.

Prof. Weng was awarded CYCU Excellent Research Contribution Teacher

To recognize faculty who have made outstanding contributions to research and industry-academia collaboration, Chung Yuan Christian University established the "Excellent Research Contribution Teacher" award. Based on his performance over the past year in publications (including impact factor and citation counts), funded research projects (number and amount), and patents/technology transfers, Prof. Huei Chu Weng was honored as a 2025 (Academic Year 114) CYCU Excellent Research Contribution Teacher.

Prof. Weng was awarded Sigma Xi Full Member

Founded at Cornell University in 1886, Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Honor Society counts Albert Einstein and over 200 Nobel laureates among its members. The Society honors outstanding scientific research; election to Full Membership requires nomination by two existing Full Members and is reserved for individuals with influential research achievements or strong development potential. Prof. Huei Chu Weng was invited to join Sigma Xi as a Full Member — a recognition of his long-standing scholarly contributions to thermal-fluid and energy science.
